Join the SFTE Recommended Practices Initiative: Elevate Flight Testing Standards
SFTE has launched a new professional development recognition program for flight test organizations, driven by insights from our individual and corporate member surveys. This program, called Recommended Practices, aims to elevate the industry by fostering safer, more effective, and efficient flight testing practices and elevating the professional standing of Flight Test Engineers (FTEs).
Why This Matters
This initiative seeks to address a critical need in our industry: ensuring all FTEs are equipped with the knowledge, skills, and support systems to excel in their roles. By establishing and promoting organizations who develop and employ FTE standards tailored for their needs, we’re taking a decisive step toward a stronger, more professional flight test community. This effort dovetails with the intention of the Flight Test Training & Education Committee (FTTEC), by recognizing both homegrown training programs and utilization of existing training and education resources.
