Defines test objectives/success criteria and develops test plans and procedures for multiple platforms, air vehicles and/or ground equipment or multi dimensional test environments. Performs risk/benefit assessment and determines most efficient testing procedure. Establishes risk mitigation test guidelines. Designs test hardware and systems. Instruments and calibrates test articles. Verifies and validates test requirements to include flight characteristics/mission capability, supportability and manufacturing principles. Provides overall test program technical support. Directs flight and ground tests. Monitors test data collection and evaluates test outcomes. Reviews and/or revises plans or procedures and directs retests. Confirms test article deficiencies have been cleared and coordinates test assets to meet schedule constraints. Integrates and executes external customer test requirements. Directs test site support and may operate test systems and/or instrumentation as needed. Performs and/or evaluates test data and analysis. Directs additional ground/flight test based found deficiencies. Authors and/or reviews test reports and makes conclusions and recommendations. Advises stakeholders regarding test outcomes and facilitates technical discussions. Operates test systems, aircraft and/or instrumentation as needed.
This job is limited to employees who, in the performance of their assigned work, regularly apply engineering disciplines to the research, design, development, test, and evaluation of company products, facilities, or manufacturing process and posses a minimum of a Bachelor's degree of Science from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry.
Typical experience: 9-13 years in an engineering classification with a Bachelor's degree or 7-11 years experience in an engineering classification with a Master's degree.
